Outline
Fukuoka Industry, Science & Technology Foundation (Fukuoka IST) was established to guide local entrepreneurs through the entire business creation process from R&D to marketing, and now serves as a base for joint industry-university-government research activities. Through a range of efforts to promote developments in science and technology and hence develop local industries or create a new industry, the Foundation seeks to help stimulating the local economy in Fukuoka Prefecture and improve the quality of the life of its citizens. The institution plays a key role in the ASIAS KYUSHU plan, a project for building science cities in northern Kyushu.
